1. Product Overview
The Reconeyez Battery Extension Pack is designed to increase the energy capacity of a single Detector, Bridge, or Siren device by housing up to four official Reconeyez lithium-ion batteries in a rugged IP67-rated enclosure. The unit shares the same mechanical housing and ingress protection features as the Reconeyez Bridge, offering robust outdoor protection for mission-critical deployments.
Key specifications:
· - Capacity: 40.8 Ah (4 x 10.2 Ah batteries)
· - Voltage: 3.7V nominal, 4.2V max
· - Temperature Range: −42 °C to +60 °C
· - Enclosure: IP67 rated
· - Cable Length: 1 m fixed cable
· - Compatible only with one device at a time
2. Installation Instructions
- Fully charge each battery using the official Reconeyez charger before installation.
- Insert all four batteries into the pack before sealing the enclosure.
- Use the push-release latching mechanism (same as the Bridge) to secure the terminal cover without damaging seals.
- Use only the provided 1 m cable to connect the Battery Extension Pack to a single Reconeyez device.
- Ensure connectors are aligned properly; do not force or rotate them.
3. Usage Guidelines
- The pack draws power from the host device only. Do not connect it to multiple devices.
- Operating outside of −42 °C to +60 °C may lead to performance degradation or failure.
- Avoid extreme thermal cycling and store batteries at 15°C–25°C when not in use.
- Periodically inspect the pack, cable, and connectors for signs of damage or wear.
4. Battery Safety and Risk Management
- Do not charge unattended or overnight. Use only in ventilated areas away from flammable materials.
- Look for signs of damage: leaking, corrosion, swelling, overheating, or unusual odour.
- Disconnect and isolate damaged units immediately and dispose of them via certified e-waste channels.
- Battery ageing over time (2–5 years) or after 300–500 cycles will reduce performance and increase risk.
5. Fire Safety and Protective Measures
- Store charged extension packs in fireproof battery safes or metal containers.
- Recommended: Class D or multi-class extinguisher near all charging locations.
- Ensure field teams are trained in lithium fire response and carry fire blankets during mobile deployments.
