Secure event link is an ease of access feature. The secure URL link sent to monitoring station enables access to the alarm Event page in the Reconeyez cloud without the requirement of logging in. This allows a quicker alarm event response by monitoring station operators. There is no need to manage user credentials and login in a separate window after secure URL is enbaled for an integration service.
The secure event page is a little bit different from what a logged in operator sees in the Reconeyez cloud and provides essential information about the alarm event:
- photo(s) for certain event
- occurrence date and time (displayed in device timezone as user timezone is not available)
- area name
- device name
- movement detection area overlay
- detected actor frames with type and probability for thumbnail or full size photo
The data in the link is accessible for 12 hours. The alarm event is still available for authenticated users (during the image retention period). Login is available from the secure event page. The user experience is exactly the same as today in case the user already has an active session with the Reconeyez cloud.
Any actions that requires user authorization and access privileges will not be available on secure event page. These include triggering a siren, arming/disarming a device or an area, accessing device details etc.
The link has a static length, an example link would look like:
https://<subdomain>.reconeyez.com/securl/evnCuSWOPZ0vaHVtYW5fdGVzdC_bCXHB18OMgQ==
The composition, encoding and signing of the link provides very high level of security against any kinds of attacks. The security of the link does not guard against it falling into the wrong hands. To maintain the security it is required that the event is transmitted over a secure medium, which is why usage of end-to-end encryption is advised.
The secure event link feature is available for all integrations formats.
